Hey Norma Jean Fans!

If you haven’t already heard, we’ll be hitting the road soon for EXPLOSIONS II. We definitely want to see you guys at these shows as we haven’t done a headlining tour in forever it seems.  We’ll be playing a lot of songs we haven’t played in forever or at all.  Old and new.

As we hit each city, we’re looking for our dedicated fans to get out there and help us promote.  We’re talking real DIY-style help.  Like it used to be when we were just starting out and all got into music.  You can get an exclusive tour flyer to download and print here: http://bit.ly/normajeanflyer You could hang it in your favorite record stores, clothing stores, restaurants, grocery stores, bars, and malls posting and handing out these flyers.  Feel free to include the venue information or other bands playing.

Norma Jean fans!  We wanted you to be the first to know about our upcoming “Explosions II” tour. Norma Jean will headline, supported by Stick To Your Guns, Impending Doom, and Of Legends. This is our first real headlining tour in over a year so don’t miss it!  We will be playing a lot of songs that we haven’t played in a long time and some that have never been played at all, old and new.  Doesn’t matter what record is your favorite, we’ll be playing something from it.  We’re very excited and are working really hard to make sure it’s going to be excellent!   Tickets are on sale NOW for all dates except Portland, Seattle, Denver, and Pittsburgh – those go on sale later this week.   Check out the dates below.  We’ll also be posting ticket links on our tour page as they become available.

Most of the tour dates for the remainder of the year have been posted. UK and Canada mostly. Take your little butt over to the Tour page and look at them with every inch of your soul. Still to come are a few USA dates for our trip up to Canada this Nov.

Norma Jean will be out with Architects in the UK in October, AlexisOnFire in Canada in Nov – Dec, as well as some appearances by 3 Inches of Blood, and Four Years Strong. It’s gonna be a fun rest of the year.

Residents of the USA!!!! You can expect to see us in the Spring of 2011 so don’t do anything else until then. Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING!

NORMA JEAN CHALLENGES YOU TO A FANTASY BASEBALL BATTLE

Calling all baseball fans — join the Almighty Norma Jean Fantasy Baseball challenge to compete against Norma Jean and fans across the world! We’re using ESPN’s Fantasy Baseball challenge to host the contest and running it until the end of the MLB regular season. At the end of the season we’ll turn to the overall leaderboard (weeks 19 -> 26 stats ONLY) to determine the winners. The first place winner will receive a pair of tickets to the Norma Jean show of their choice where the winner will be invited ON STAGE to accept a special trophy from the band. The trophy comes courtesy FantasyTrophies.com. It will be custom engraved with the winner’s name — you can check it out here: http://www.fantasytrophies.com/ft/product/baseball/ace. Three runners up will win autographed vinyl copies of Meridional. Of course if we win, Norma Jean keeps the trophy! But you won’t let that happen, will you? We take a lot of pride in all the art we use. Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we’ve ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we’ve ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song ‘The Anthem of the Angry Brides,’ [which is] track two on the new record, ‘Meridional.’

What an amazing Spring it�s been for Norma Jean!� We spent February laboring away at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta laying down what we honestly believe is not only our heaviest , but also our best album to date!� The record, our fifth studio release, is titled MERIDIONAL and will be released on July 13^th.

Cory describes it as �a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes.� Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.”� �We really feel like we have made something special and are looking forward to getting it in your hands.
