NORMA JEAN CHALLENGES YOU TO A FANTASY BASEBALL BATTLE
Calling all baseball fans — join the Almighty Norma Jean Fantasy Baseball challenge to compete against Norma Jean and fans across the world! We’re using ESPN’s Fantasy Baseball challenge to host the contest and running it until the end of the MLB regular season. At the end of the season we’ll turn to the overall leaderboard (weeks 19 -> 26 stats ONLY) to determine the winners. The first place winner will receive a pair of tickets to the Norma Jean show of their choice where the winner will be invited ON STAGE to accept a special trophy from the band. The trophy comes courtesy FantasyTrophies.com. It will be custom engraved with the winner’s name — you can check it out here: http://www.fantasytrophies.com/ft/product/baseball/ace. Three runners up will win autographed vinyl copies of Meridional. Of course if we win, Norma Jean keeps the trophy! But you won’t let that happen, will you? We take a lot of pride in all the art we use. Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we’ve ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we’ve ever had. The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us. The song in this video is a clip from the song ‘The Anthem of the Angry Brides,’ [which is] track two on the new record, ‘Meridional.’
What an amazing Spring its been for Norma Jean! We spent February laboring away at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta laying down what we honestly believe is not only our heaviest , but also our best album to date! The record, our fifth studio release, is titled MERIDIONAL and will be released on July 13th.
Cory describes it as a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes. Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.” We really feel like we have made something special and are looking forward to getting it in your hands.
And if we werent busy enough pulling together all the album artwork (which well be sharing with you REALLY soon), weve added a bunch of May tour dates into the mix as well! Beginning May 11th, well hit the road with Every Time I Die and Cancer Bats for thirteen dates. Check out all the dates above:

We are currently in the studio recording our fifth album, which will drop this Summer. It’s our best album yet and it’s gonna make you wanna rip the pouch off a kangaroo!
It’s totally different from anything we’ve done before (which actually, you should expect by now.) and it’s our heaviest album. It’s dark. Trapped in a never-ending nightmare, dark.
